In February 2023, ESCP Business School was named one of the best universities for entrepreneurs in Germany by the think tank Stifterverband, whose annual start-up radar compares start-up support at German colleges and universities.
For its first year participating in the radar, ESCP earned 11th place among the 64 small universities (< 5,000 students) that participated. The jury rated the school’s overall performance as “exemplary”. They were especially impressed with the school’s work in the areas of start-up monitoring as well as start-up awareness and qualification.
In the start-up awareness and qualification category, ESCP received excellent marks in raising awareness for the potential career option of launching a start-up among students and faculty members. This includes providing training on how to start a business. For example, Blue Factory, ESCP’s incubator runs three series of programmes for aspiring entrepreneurs: START, SEED and SCALE. In the start-up monitoring category, ESCP excels in measuring the impact of the activities implemented to promote start-ups, for example through extensive feedback surveys.
René Mauer, professor of entrepreneurship and innovation as well as the European coordinator of the Jean-Baptiste Say Institute says: “We are extremely proud of this performance for our first year participating in the Start-up Radar. To keep up with the incredible pace of entrepreneurship in Germany, we continuously develop the cutting-edge support we offer potential entrepreneurs at ESCP and beyond. And all ESCPers know: There is much more to discover in our European ESCP ecosystem beyond Germany.”
The Start-up Radar is available here on the Stifterverband’s website.
About ESCP Business School
ESCP Business School was founded in 1819. The School has chosen to teach responsible leadership, open to the world and based on European multiculturalism. Six campuses in Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Turin and Warsaw are the stepping stones that allow students to experience this European approach to management.
Several generations of entrepreneurs and managers were thus trained in the firm belief that the business world may feed society in a positive way.
This conviction and ESCP’s values – excellence, singularity, creativity and plurality – daily guide our mission and build its pedagogical vision.
Every year, ESCP welcomes 9000+ students and 5000 managers from 130 different nationalities. Its strength lies in its many business training programmes, both general and specialised (Bachelor, Master, MBA, Executive MBA, PhD and Executive Education), all of which include a multi-campus experience.
